Leonard Wall is the father of a son with schizophrenia. He is an active community mental health advocate, sitting on over 30 boards and committees in the last twelve years.
He was president of the Schizophrenia Society of Ontario for seven years, Chaired the Consumer, Family and Housing Committee and sat on the Executive Committee of the Champlain Region Mental Health Implementation Task Force, on the board of Canadian Mental Health Association for six years and chaired the Royal Ottawa Hospital Consumer Advisory committee for five years.
A retired businessman, Len and his wife Gillian operated the Comfort King group in Ottawa . He also held management positions with Ford of Canada and Dun and Bradstreet of Canada.
