Electroencephalography (EEG)

Genotyping and nicotine research-study
Purpose: To investigate the cognitive effects of nicotine between individuals with different genotypes. Brain wave activity is looked at to assess attention, memory, and concentration. A saliva sample is taken to assess genotypes.

The EEG lab at The Royal is looking for volunteers:

  • 18-40 year old Caucasian males
  • Right-handed
  • Non-smokers (less then 100 cigarettes in their lifetime)
  • No history of alcohol or drug dependence
  • Compensation will be provided for your time and effort.

Participants needed – nicotine, genetics and cognition research study
Purpose: to study the cognitive effects (including memory, attention, and the ability to filter out irrelevant sounds) of nicotine-like drugs on the brain’s electrical responses (as measured by EEG) in different genetic subgroups.

The EEG lab at The Royal is looking for volunteers:

• 30-39 years old
•smokers
• no history of drug or alcohol abuse
• no history (or first-degree relative history) of psychiatric illness

Participants will be compensated $75 upon completion of the study.
