Sahir Khan

Sahir Khan is the Assistant Parliamentary Budget Officer, Expenditure & Revenue Analysis. He is responsible for leading the scrutiny of proposed government expenditures, including budgetary and off-cycle, and in providing this analysis to parliamentarians to aid their deliberations. Specifically, he leads a team responsible for providing parliamentarians with business decision support analysis; financial due diligence on major policy and operational initiatives; and, assessment of the performance of government expenditures.

Sahir came to the Office of the PBO from the Privy Council Office (PCO) where he provided the Prime Minister and the Clerk of the Privy Council with analysis and advice on fiscal, economic, tax and expenditure management issues. Prior to PCO, he was a director at the Treasury Board Secretariat where he led an analytical team engaged in the due diligence and oversight of major projects and fiscal pressures. Professionally, Sahir is a turnaround and restructuring specialist having joined the public sector in 2004 from New York-based RKG Osnos Partners, LLC, where he was a Managing Director. He also worked with Deloitte Consultant’s New York office and has led turnarounds in manufacturing, technology, real estate and consumer products.

Sahir is a member of the Asbury College Alumni Executive Committee, Columbia Club of New York, Turnaround Management Association and is a Columbia Business School Ambassador

Sahir has a BCom from Queens University at Kingston and an MBA (finance) from Columbia University.
