We are pleased to announce that the 2023 Inspirational Golf Classic will be held on Monday September 11, 2023 at the Rideau View Golf Club. We hope you will consider supporting mental health research at the Royal - the need for funding has never been greater.
As you know, the money raised through the Classic is used to further Dr. Zachary Kaminsky's suicide prevention research at The Royal's Institute of Mental Health Research. The Classic to date has raised over $447,000 for mental health research and we refuse to let challenges we are facing in 2023 slow us down.
The 2023 tournament is dedicated to the memory of Jamie Hubley. Jamie died by suicide at age 15 after years of bullying that lead to depression and severe mental health challenges. Jamie was an award-winning figure skater and was beginning to be recognized as a singer who just wanted to help make others happy. By supporting the research underway at the Royal, you will help prevent other families and maybe your own from experiencing the tragic loss of a family member.
We invite you to join us once again, by contributing to the 2023 Inspirational Golf Classic. Every dollar raised gets us one step closer to helping the Royal and Dr. Kaminsky realize their dreams of successfully developing methods to predict suicidal thoughts, and thus reduce the chances that those thoughts will be carried out so that more live can be saved.
