Scott McLean, Past-Chair
Mr. Scott McLean is a senior litigator at Dentons Canada LLP, a founding member of Dentons, a global law firm, practicing predominantly in the area of corporate and commercial litigation out of the firm’s Ottawa office since 1977.
Mr. McLean has appeared at trial and appellate levels in Ontario, the Federal Court, the Federal Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada, as well as in Alberta, Manitoba, the Northwest Territories and Quebec on special calls.
One of Mr. McLean's more recent responsibilities was acting as Counsel to the Independent Investigation into the 2008 Listeriosis Outbreak.
Mr. McLean is a Lecturer at the University of Ottawa Law School in Advocacy and has for many years acted as a lecturer/presenter on legal issues for the Law Society of Upper Canada, including as Director of Practice Skills, and the Carleton County Law Association, as well as being a Sessional Lecturer at Carleton University in Administrative and Public Law since 1976.
As a former member of the Board of Directors of the Ottawa Boys and Girls Club, he maintains close ties with and is a regular supporter of the Club and its activities. Mr. McLean lives with his family in Brockville, Ontario.
