Overview

Family Caregivers often consider others’ needs ahead of their own. I encourage you to discover the importance of leisure and recreational activities as being a priority in your life to help manage your self-care.  When caring for others we often experience self-neglect.

What is Leisure and the benefits of leisure? The focus of having a balanced lifestyle and how can you manage this when being a caregiver. Let’s look at your leisure interests and identify using the eight domains. What is your leisure attitude and what components of leisure need to be present for you be motivated to participate in your leisure pursuits. To what degree do you perceive your needs are being satisfied through leisure activity participation. Overcoming barriers is a key factor in developing and maintaining a healthy leisure lifestyle!
