November 27 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm
Rob Nettleton and Amanda Rocca will be joined by Occupational Therapist Isabel Johns for a workshop focused on the senses. Participants will explore how sensory environments influence emotions and mental health, gain an understanding of neurodiversity and sensory thresholds, and learn practical strategies and coping skills to support loved ones in managing both under-stimulation and overstimulation.
Rob Nettleton, MSW RSW is a social worker and psychotherapist in The Royal’s Mood and Anxiety Program. He leads caregiver and parent emotion coaching workshops and coordinates MSW student placements. Outside The Royal, he maintains a private psychotherapy practice and pursues interests in curling, non-fiction writing and video games.
Amanda Rocca, MSW RSW is a social worker and psychotherapist in The Royal’s Youth Psychiatry Program. She provides therapy for youth experiencing mood dysregulation and suicidal ideation, while also supporting families through emotion coaching strategies. She also collaborates with universities and mental health organizations to advance social work education and practice.
We recommend reviewing the following resources before attending the workshops: From Conflict to Connection (article) and Mental Health Foundations: Caregiver Resources.
