Research Focus

I research how brain and mind are connected in various mental features like self, consciousness, thought, dreams, and others. That serves to develop diagnostic markers and personalized therapies for mental disorders like depression, schizophrenia, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and posttraumatic stress disorder.

A Point of Pride

A few discoveries:

  • Association of our sense of self with cortical midline structures
  • Dynamics of brain is key for consciousness
  • Depression is a speed disorder with major global topographic brain changes
  • Schizophrenia is a disorder of temporal imprecision in the ongoing phase dynamics
  • Development of personalized therapies (breathing, music) for the treatment of anxiety

How I am Working to Make a Difference for Those Living with Mental Illness

Understanding brain-mind connection and consciousness, providing diagnostic marker and first-of-its-kind personalized precision therapy in the above mental disorders.
