Chris Ide

Chris Ide is President & CEO of the Foundation at The Royal. A seasoned fundraising executive, he has spent his career mobilizing people and ideas to inspire philanthropic support for bold, systems-changing work. Whether leading national campaigns, sparking transformational giving, or building high-performing teams, Chris brings a sharp focus to every challenge: inspiring generosity that drives lasting impact.

Since joining The Royal in 2021, Chris has worked with hospital and research partners, staff, and volunteers to launch the Foundation’s largest campaign in over 40 years and develop its first multi-year strategic plan in nearly a decade. He has more than doubled annual fundraising revenue, strengthened alignment with The Royal’s vision, mission, and strategic plan, and led a full rebrand to better reflect the organization’s leadership, purpose, and impact.

Chris brings more than 20 years’ experience across the non-profit, healthcare, and tech sectors. At CAMH Foundation, he helped lead No One Left Behind—a $600 million campaign and the largest mental health fundraising effort in Canadian history. He also led national partnerships at Habitat for Humanity Canada and held earlier leadership roles in the tech sector.

Known for building inclusive, high-performing teams and purpose-driven cultures, Chris is passionate about using philanthropy to create change that lasts. He lives in Ottawa with his husband, their twin sons, and their two golden retrievers. He is also a curler and softball player.
