About / Leadership / Tyler Meredith

Tyler Meredith is an accomplished public policy leader and economic advisor with nearly two decades of experience at the intersection of economics, government and public policy. He is a Partner with Meredith Boessenkool & Phillips Policy Advisors and a Senior Fellow and Lecturer at the University of Toronto’s Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy.

Previously, Tyler served as the federal government’s lead economic advisor to the Prime Minister and two Ministers of Finance. He helped develop six federal budgets and played a central role in shaping Canada’s economic response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Earlier in his career, he was Director of Economic Research at the Institute for Research on Public Policy and worked as a management consultant.

Tyler holds a Master of Public Administration from Queen’s University and a Bachelor of Social Sciences from the University of Ottawa. He serves as a Trustee of The Royal and Chair of the Finance and Audit Committees, bringing expertise in fiscal policy, strategic planning and organizational oversight to the Board.
