Information for Researchers

Home to one of the few positron emission tomography-magnetic resonance imaging (PET-MRI) machines in the world, The Royal’s Brain Imaging Centre (BIC) offers neuroscientists and other researchers access to the advanced technology needed to better understand the brain, identify the causes of mental illness, and inform more effective treatments.

Our PET-MRI machine is the first of its kind in North America dedicated solely to mental health research, and is helping to open the door to a new era of success in mental health care.

Please note that this machine is available for research purposes only, and cannot be used for clinical diagnostic purposes at this time.

Below is further information for researchers who are interested in initiating a study at the BIC.

If you are unable to find the information you are looking for, please contact Katie Dinelle, BIC Manager.
