Combining forward-looking vision with his experience as a former 13-year senior advisor in government policy and strategic planning, including working with the United Nations in disaster risk reduction, Zak brings a unique perspective and set of skills to the board. Zak's academic background includes a degree in international relations, economics, and law, as well as certificates in business and project management. These give him an advantage but it is his journey of recovery that sets him apart.

Zak's dedication to mental health and addiction recovery is evident in his role as a board of trustees member in the governance and quality committees. He is determined to break down barriers for individuals living with mental illness.
