Join us for a free Continuing Medical Education (CME) morning focused on the latest evidence-based approaches to mental illness in primary care.
Through three expert-led sessions, participants will strengthen their skills in:
- Diagnosing and treating depression
- Addressing substance use disorders
- Identifying patients who may benefit from interventional psychiatry services

- 8:15 – 9:15 a.m. – Treating Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) in Primary Care & CANMAT 2024 MDD Pearls (Speaker: Dr. Jeffrey Habert)
- Learning outcome one: Review the updated CANMAT 2023/2024 guidelines for diagnosing and managing Major Depressive Disorder (MDD), including evidence-based treatment pathways.
- Learning outcome two: Understand and apply the principles of early optimized treatment and measurement-based care to improve functional outcomes and remission rates in MDD.
- Learning outcome three: Identify strategies for managing inadequate response to initial therapy, including antidepressant switching, adjunctive treatments, psychotherapy, and neuromodulation options.
