Improving care across the region: one patient, one chart.

Patients across Eastern Ontario will have better access to their own health records, as eight more hospitals in the region have joined a shared digital health records system, the Atlas Alliance. This gives patients and care teams a more efficient way to access important health information, ensure continuity of care and improve the patient experience regionally. No matter which hospital partner organization a patient goes to for care, their health information will follow them.

The Atlas Alliance is a regional partnership of health care organizations across eastern Ontario, all using the same digital health records system. By leveraging a singular digital health record, hosted through Epic, all Atlas Alliance partners can securely share information and communication to further enhance patient care and experience through a unified patient portal, MyChart.

These new hospitals are now part of the Atlas Alliance:

  • Arnprior Regional Health
  • Glengarry Memorial Hospital
  • Hôpital Montfort
  • Mississippi River Health Alliance (Almonte General Hospital, Carleton Place & District Memorial Hospital)
  • Pembroke Regional Hospital
  • Queensway Carleton Hospital

One patient,
one chart.

Moving eight hospitals to a new digital system is a significant undertaking. Thousands of staff and physicians have prepared for this change, but learning new workflows takes time. In the first days and weeks after go-live, some appointments, tests and visits may take a little longer than usual.

Hospitals ask patients, families and community members for their patience and understanding as staff become comfortable with the new system and new ways of working. Care teams remain focused on providing safe, high-quality care throughout the transition.

The Atlas Alliance now includes the following health organizations:

  • Arnprior Regional Health
  • Deep River & District Health
  • Glengarry Memorial Hospital
  • Group Health Centre (Sault Ste. Marie)
  • Hawkesbury District Hospital
  • Kemptville District Hospital
  • Hôpital Montfort
  • Mississippi River Health Alliance (Almonte General Hospital, Carleton Place & District Memorial Hospital)
  • Pembroke Regional Hospital
  • Queensway Carleton Hospital
  • Renfrew Victoria Hospital
  • Francis Memorial Hospital
  • The Ottawa Hospital
  • The Ottawa Hospital Academic Family Health Team
  • The Royal
  • The University of Ottawa Heart Institute
  • Winchester District Memorial Hospital

Patients can access their MyChart account, or sign up if they do not have one, through the Atlas Alliance MyChart website.
