/ Supporting Anxious Teens: How to Skillfully Address Avoidance

This session equips parents and caregivers with tools to help their teen face fear, manage uncertainty and maintain open communication. This is a research-based session led by The Royal’s clinicians.

Facilitators

Rob Nettleton, MSW RSW is a social worker and psychotherapist in The Royal’s Mood and Anxiety Program. He leads caregiver and parent emotion coaching workshops and coordinates MSW student placements. Outside The Royal, he maintains a private psychotherapy practice and pursues interests in curling, non-fiction writing and video games.

Amanda Rocca, MSW RSW is a social worker and psychotherapist in The Royal’s Youth Psychiatry Program. She provides therapy for youth experiencing mood dysregulation and suicidal ideation, while also supporting families through emotion coaching strategies. She also collaborates with universities and mental health organizations to advance social work education and practice.
