Overview

This session is a brief introduction into the forensic mental health system in Ontario. It will include an overview of forensic psychiatry, the Ontario Review Board (ORB) process, assessments, NCR/fitness/unfit, the role of the Forensic Treatment Unit (FTU) in Ottawa and Brockville, inpatient/outpatient teams, and recovery. This session will be of interest to those who are supporting individuals receiving care in the forensic system, or anyone who would like to learn more about Ontario’s forensic mental health system and services offered by The Royal.
