Programs for clinical students and researchers

Interventional Psychiatry Fellowship

An academic and treatment-based fellowship in Interventional Psychiatry to explore new treatments including brain stimulation and drug delivery on difficult-to-treat disorders.

Psychology Practicum

Practicum training to build an understanding of the professional roles of a psychologist, open to PhD level students from Clinical Psychology Programs.

Residency Program in Clinical Psychology

A predoctoral, multi-track residency that brings applicants into different areas of The Royal to participate in diagnostic assessments, psychotherapy and group facilitation.

Residency Program in Forensic Psychiatry

Accredited residency in forensic psychiatry for Canadian citizens or landed immigrants eligible to write the RCPSC exam in general psychiatry and for an educational license through CPSO.

Research Placement in Forensic Mental Health

A placement in The Royal’s Forensic Treatment Unit to conduct clinical research on the treatment and assessment of paraphilias, sexual offending and mentally disordered offenders.

Postdoctoral Fellowship in NFB and Minority Stress

Postdoctoral fellow positions to study fMRI neurofeedback in PTSD and neural correlates of minority stress in intersectional LGBTQ2SAI+ and racialized communities.

Research Placement in Outcome Prediction

An in-depth research placement for a recent PhD graduate interested in data analysis around psychiatry, machine learning and mental health outcome prediction.
