Easy and secure access to information about your care.

My Health, My Way is a free online portal that enables you to review details about the treatment you receive at The Royal. Access to your own health records can empower you as you work with your clinical team to achieve your recovery goals.

Information available through My Health, My Way includes:

  • Current medication (only for outpatients)
  • Lab results
  • Some clinical reports such as discharge summaries and consultation reports*
  • A history of your appointments at The Royal
  • Appointments scheduled at The Royal’s Sleep Clinic (other programs and clinics will be added in the future)

You can also use My Health, My Way to update your demographic information (age, gender, etc.).

*Please note: Some reports require more time to be processed and may not be available right away.

My Health, My Way is a free service with simple registration. All you need is an email address and a way to access the internet.

Register for My Health, My Way

Complete and submit this form to sign up for My Health, My Way and a member of The Royal’s Clinical Records team will contact you to complete the registration process. You will be required to show proof of identity, such as a health card, to complete the sign-up process.

Alternatively, you can ask your physician to enroll you during your next appointment. They will be able to use the “QuickEnroll” function in your electronic health record.

Royal clients who are over the age of 15 and have the capacity to collect, use and disclose personal health information may be granted access to My Health, My Way.

Please note that My Health, My Way is not available to clients in the Forensic Program, clients in the Secure Treatment Unit at the Brockville campus, and clients whose care is managed under the Ontario Review Board or undergoing court-ordered assessment.

Clients in the Forensic Program may request their records through the clinical records department by emailing ReleaseofInformation-Ottawa@theroyal.ca — or calling (613) 722-6521, ext. 6338 or 6315.

To use My Health, My Way you need:

  • An email address.
  • A computer or mobile device with internet access.

If you don’t have a device or access of your own, internet access is available through computer stations at the Client and Family Resource Hub, located at The Royal’s Ottawa campus (1145 Carling Avenue), or at your local library or community centre.

If you do not have an email address, you can sign up for a free account with an email service provider such as Gmail. Information about setting up an email account can be found here.

There are many free email services available such as Google’s Gmail.

Currently, only clients of The Royal can access their personal health information through My Health My Way.

The information you access through My Health, My Way is your personal health information. Below are a few tips to assist you with protecting your privacy.

Always Log Off before stepping away from the computer.

  • If you are using a cellphone or tablet, be sure to log off when you are finished accessing your information, or before leaving your device unattended.
  • The portal will automatically logout after 15 minutes of inactivity.
  • Don’t wait for the automatic logout.
  • Protect your privacy by logging off every time.
  • Similarly, log out of your e-mail account to prevent unwanted access on shared or public devices.

Never share your password.

Never write down your password.
Use a phrase to help you remember your password.

Never allow your internet browser to save or remember your password for you.
If you do, and you’re on a shared device, another person using the device will be able to access your information without needing to know your password.

Protect your printed personal health information.
If you print any information from My Health, My Way, be sure to keep your printed information in a safe and secure place.
