Dr. Patrick McGrath
Dr. Patrick J. McGrath is a renowned clinical psychologist, researcher, and social entrepreneur whose career has focused on translating research into improved healthcare. He is Professor Emeritus of Psychiatry at Dalhousie University and a senior scientist at both the Royal Ottawa’s Institute for Mental Health Research and IWK Health Centre. As VP Research at IWK and Nova Scotia Health, he launched initiatives like the Translating Research into Care grants and co-founded BIOTIC. He founded the Strongest Families Institute, which delivers digital mental health services to over 13,000 families annually, earning national awards including the Governor General’s Innovation Award. Author of over 450 peer-reviewed papers and 14 books, Dr. McGrath continues to lead research in digital health and serves on international advisory boards, including for mental health efforts in Ukraine. He is an Officer of the Order of Canada and a fellow of the Royal Society of Canada.
