Overview

Emma Slaney Gose has worked in Ottawa's homelessness, mental health and Violence against Women (VAW) sectors for over a decade. In this presentation, Emma will outline the unique elements of the VAW service sector and what it offers women and child survivors of gender-based violence.

Whether looking to learn about such services from the perspective of a helping professional, family member, or as individual seeking support, this session will leave you with a basic understanding of Ottawa's VAW sector and what values, approaches and perspectives can set it apart from other mental health, homeless, or addictions services.
