Free Conference: Beyond the fine print - Improving the research consent process for clarity, choice and collaboration

Join us for a full day of education dedicated to improving the ethical and practical aspects of the informed consent process in research.
This event will explore the legal frameworks, ethical guidelines, and real-world challenges that shape consent practices towards fostering a culture of trust and integrity in research participation.
Your day will begin at 8 a.m. with an expert legal presentation that takes you Beyond the Fine Print of Consent. You will be provided with a complimentary lunch and an opportunity to connect with peers and colleagues. The afternoon will host two interactive workshops which aim to improve the research consent process. The day will wrap up at 4 p.m. following a presentation by Director of Clinical Research Administration, Tammy Beaudoin.
It aims to equip researchers, clinicians, staff, and students/trainees with the knowledge and tools needed to ensure transparency and respect throughout every stage of research participation.
Anyone involved in research participant recruitment and consent processes, including researchers, clinical staff, research staff, and students/trainees. Registration is open to research teams across the region.
Conference is open to all research team members, internal and external of The Royal, and is presented at no cost. For those driving to the Brookstreet hotel, please note parking for attendees of this event is complimentary.
