Summary

Join professional football player Alex Mateas and TSN 1200 hosts Ian Mendes and Lee Versage, for the Movember edition of Conversations at The Royal: Men(tal Health) at Work.

Work is a place where stress is often high and emotions are generally unwelcome - a place where men are expected to thrive.  Success at work is often equated to success in life.  That kind of pressure can have a heavy impact on men’s mental health.

Mateas, Mendes and Versage will take the stage along with mental health experts from The Royal to explore burnout, stress and mental illness from a male perspective, and discuss how to build resiliency and support men in the workplace.

Mateas will share how he takes care of his mental health at work, as an offensive lineman for the Ottawa REDBLACKS, and in life (hint: the approach is not that different than taking care of your physical health).

A panel discussion will also highlight the latest research and information on workplace mental health and tips for returning to work after mental illness.
