Steve Walsh RN
Psychiatric Outreach Team, The Royal

Steve Walsh is a registered nurse in the Community Mental Health Program at The Royal and has worked in the area of community mental health for over 20 years.

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is the help provided to a person who may be developing a mental health problem, experiencing a mental health crisis, or a worsening of their mental health. It teaches participants how to identify the signs and symptoms of common mental health disorders as well as intervention techniques.

This session is an overview of MHFA, not the full first aid course. Participants will learn how MHFA can support people around us who are living with mental health challenges. Details will be shared about upcoming MHFA courses at The Royal.
