Royal’s Board of Trustees Announces: Departure of the Royal Ottawa Health Care Group’s President and CEO

On behalf of the Royal Ottawa Health Care Group’s Board of Trustees, I am writing to inform you that Joanne Bezzubetz has decided to step down as The Royal’s President and CEO as of December 14, 2022.

Joanne joined The Royal in 2013 as Vice President, Patient Care Services. In June of 2018, she was appointed President and CEO. In both roles, she brought a wealth of experience in mental health and addictions, as well as an unwavering commitment to doing what is best for The Royal, its clients, their families, and the broader community.

Joanne led the development of The Royal’s Strategic Plan – co-creating access, hope and new possibilities for all people with mental health and addictions needs. This strategy has set a foundation to move us forward as a world-class leader in mental health care and research, putting clients and families at the centre of everything we do.

We thank her for her vision and for the service she has provided The Royal, and we wish her well on her future endeavours.

Cal Crocker, The Royal’s Chief Operating Officer and CFO, will serve as the acting President and CEO effective December 14, 2022 until an Interim President and CEO is identified by the Board of Trustees.
