About Long-Term Care

The Royal operates a long-term care (LTC) home with 64 beds on the grounds of the Ottawa campus. Staff provide treatment for adults living with stable mental illness, physical limitations or other complex needs that are best supported in a structured, home-like environment.

The residence is organized into four home areas of 16 residents each, located on the second and third floors. Care is tailored to each resident’s needs, with a focus on dignity, safety and quality of life.

The Royal’s LTC home serves a younger population than many other long-term care homes, with an average resident age of 65.
