Run/Walk for Men's Mental Health

Run/Walk for Men's Mental Health

Sunday, November 15 2020 at 2:00PM

Support our run/walk for Men’s Mental Health this Movember to raise funds and raise awareness. Men and women face differences in the realm of mental illness. Although women are nearly twice as likely as men to be diagnosed with depression, stigmas that uniquely affect men, such as the stigma that seeking help or sharing one’s emotions is a sign of weakness, often lead to an absence of communication and a more acute state of mental illness.

Around one in ten Canadian men experience significant mental health challenges in their life, and on average approximately 3,000 men take their own life every year accounting for 75% of all suicides. Women are more likely to attempt suicide or self harm, but men are more likely to be successful.

All funds raised will go directly into the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre’s Foundation toward men’s mental health programs.

This event has a limit of 25 people for the run/walk as per current COVID-19 guidelines for outdoor gatherings – please donate or share to help us support the cause!
