Many of us have had the experience of going to bed after struggling with a problem, only to have the answer pop into our minds when we wake up.
The 14th annual Leaders for Mental Health Breakfast, presented by the Malcomson family, brought over 1500 people together virtually to raise money and awareness for The Royal.
The Royal is pleased to announce that Dr. Simone Vigod of Women’s College Hospital and the University of Toronto is the 2021 winner of The Royal-Mach-Gaensslen Prize for Mental Health Research.
Beautiful Minds is an undertaking of Steve West, the chair of the Institute of Mental Health Research (IMHR) board of directors. Through artistically enhanced images of brains, traditional photographic portraits, and deeply personal stories, Beautiful Minds is designed to shine a light on substance use disorders and inspire conversations.

In 2016, thanks to the generosity of donor support, The Royal opened our Brain Imaging Centre (BIC).
For the last decade, Canada Life has played an integral role in the development of The Royal’s Brain Imaging Centre (BIC) by supporting the advancement of depression research at The Royal’s Institute of Mental Health Research.
The Prompt Care Clinic began as an idea and a dream to help provide more timely access to mental health services. This great idea quickly developed as the COVID-19 pandemic took hold during the late winter of 2020.
The Royal is so fortunate to have champions across our community and around the world who volunteer their time to support the incredible mental health care and research that helps provide hope and transform lives.
