On June 20, 2018 the Board of Trustees of the Royal Ottawa Health Care Group (ROHCG) appointed Joanne Bezzubetz PhD as the new President and CEO of The Royal.
Joanne Bezzubetz joined The Royal in June 2013 as the Vice President Patient Care Services, accountable to oversee the delivery of patient care across the ROHCG. This includes ensuring the quality aspects of patient care and services offered, as well as the effective use of resources.
Joanne has more than 20 years of experience in healthcare leadership with organizations across Canada; hence brings a wealth of experience, knowledge, innovative and evidence-based practices in mental health and addictions. In previous leadership positions she served as the Executive Director of Community Health Services for Vancouver, the Director of Mental Health and Addictions for Coastal - both roles on behalf of Vancouver Coastal Health Authority, the Regional Director of Mental Health and Addictions for Northern Health in British Columbia, the Executive Director of the Cree Board of Health and Social Services; Executive Director for the Department of Health and Social Services in Nunavut; the Executive Director for the Association of Community Living and prior to that, the Director of the Cochrane District Detox Centre.
Bezzubetz holds a PhD in Applied Management and Decision Sciences from Walden University, an MBA from Athabasca University and is a Certified Health Executive with the Canadian College of Health Service Executives.
Joanne has extensive expertise in the field of Mental Health and Addictions and is passionate about working in close partnership with community stakeholders, clients and family members/friends, and staff of The Royal.
